Like the sharpest pop music, Feel the Sound gets you to keep coming back for more, but unlike so much music today, it rewards you for doing so, giving you the experience of a fulfilled and yet still yearning, lively potential, one that will be further realized when the songs are performed live. From the exhilarating, propulsive "Runaway," which features the entire band on lead vocals (how many other groups can make that claim?), to the expansive final statement of "Overtaken," Roddy Bottum, Lynn Perko Truell, Will Schwartz, and Jone Stebbins feel the sound themselves and, in turn, make the listener feel it in ways immediate and pleasurable but also lasting and haunting. ELO-like symphonic pop has become a touchstone for everyone from Justice to Cut Copy in recent years, but Feel the Sound makes it manifest through live instrumentation that possesses a Krautrock level of intuitive synchronicity and a desert island jukebox's sense of fun.

FM Bats is a four-piece punk band from Long Beach, California that formed in 2004, consisting of singer Todd Jacobs (aka Hot Batch Todd or Nancy Manhands), formerly of The Distraction, Le Shok, and Neon King Kong; bassist Leonardo Salas of Parades End and I'm Gonna Stab You; drummer Tony Matarazzo of Grand Elegance ; Brett Cutts; and Orlando Sanchez formerly of I'm Gonna Stab You and Parades End.

• FM Bats Are Out To Harm LP (Sound Virus)

After recording Everybody Out... Shark in the Water Orlando Sanchez left the band for a two year sentence in a Nevada state prison. He was replaced by Brett Cutts who performed on Bats Are Out To Harm and for zmradio on KUCI, but the death of Cutts in March 2006 left the future of FM Bats in limbo. Dru Hubbell replaced Cutts from 2007-2008. In 2011, the band began making appearances in Southern California again with Dru Hubbell on Guitar and Mike Mulcahy aka Mike the Tryke on drums. Hubbell & Mulcahy are both Current members of the recently reunited Sensitive Side (SS).

Dan Ostergren is a 24 year old self taught artist who loves to photograph people. He purchased his first camera in March 2010 hoping to find a new hobby, however photography quickly turned into a passion. He strives to create unique, beautiful high quality portraits that are full of life and emotion. Dan believes that it takes a talented eye to take a great photograph, but to be a great photographer it takes a passion to always make your next photograph better than the last one. His favorite subjects to photograph are his friends, because he believes that they have been his biggest source of inspiration every day.

Unlike too many mainstream female artists however, they don't pose themselves as the new sex idols, but inspire the crowd to get sexy. They are far from the festishized female superstars we are used to; they are close and sweaty, spitting gritty lyrics and inflicting even grittier dance moves. Anyone who appreciates the cacophonous, unholy union of the Climax Golden Twins and the A-Frames or the arresting experiments of Feral Children should put X-Ray Press at the top of the list of bands to check out. This is not to say that this quartet sound like either of those bands, but simply that they seem to be coming from similar viewpoints. Taking its name from a creative music-smuggling technique used by Soviet Union college students during the Cold War, the local band utilizes their jazz backgrounds to explore and deconstruct classic, Regan-era punk sounds.
